What is the Australia ETA Electronic Travel Authority

Fast facts on the ETA.

Welcome to the future! Instead of issuing the usual visa stamp in your passport, the Australian government now issues an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) visa for a handful of foreign nationals including US citizens. The electronic visa now replaces the traditional printed visa for those visiting Australia for short stays. It is far faster and easier to process than a regular visa, and does not require you to submit your passport to the Australian Embassy or Consulate. At Passport Visas Express.com, we can process your application in as fast as one day or less. Here are the facts:

How is the ETA different than other types of Australian visas?

-The ETA is for those traveling to Australia for business or as a tourist, for a short-term trip (generally less than 90 days).

-The ETA visa application online completed online. No paperwork, or mailing or submitting your passport is required.

-ETA visa are issued electronically- your passport is not stamped with a visa. When you apply online your information is collected electronically.
