What if I am refused a UK visa?
If you are refused a visa to enter the UK, the entry clearance officer will give you a written notice clearly explaining the decision, which will also tell you of your rights of appeal.
If I am refused, can I appeal against the decision?
Certain categories of visa application, including family visits and settlement, attract full rights of appeal if refused. If you have full rights of appeal this will be stated on your written notice of refusal. Applications for visas to enter the UK in other categories attract limited rights of appeal if refused. If you have limited rights of appeal this will be clearly stated on your written notice of refusal.
What if I have been refused a visa for another country before?
Each visa application for the UK is dealt with on its own merits, but an entry clearance officer may wish to know why another country refused you a visa.
What if I have been refused entry to another country?
As above, the entry clearance officer may wish to know why you were refused entry to another country.
