The Mauritania tourist or business visa is typically valid for 3 or 6 months from the date of issue, for either a single or multiple entries. The period of stay is up to 3 or 6 months, but not to exceed the expiration date shown on the visa.

Effective Jan 01 2009 all visa applications must be approved by the Mauritanian Government in Nouakchott. The approval process typically takes 10 days.

Applications are accepted locally for extensions of stay.

A Multiple Entry visa is available on specific request.
