Non U.S. Citizen Visa Application This information is for Non United States citizens who intend to visit China. For Chinese Visa purposes, Hong Kong is considered a separate principality and not a part of mainland China. US citizens please see our China Visa Page. A visa is not required for ordinary passport holders from Singapore, Brunei and Japan to visit China for up to 15 days per entry for business, sightseeing, visiting relatives and friends or transit. All other nationalities are required to obtain a visa to enter China. Please note: Visas are issued at the discretion of the Chinese Embassy or Consulate. We cannot guarantee the number of entries or the validity of the visa- this is determined by the Chinese upon review of the visa application. Multiple entry visas can be requested but most often are issued as double entry visas even if an invitation letter accompanies the application. The Chinese visa is valid for either 3, 6 or 12 months. You may enter at any time during the Chinese visas validity. The Chinese visas' duration of stay is typically 30-days per entry. Your Chinese visas' duration of stay begins the day you enter China.
