Chinese Work Visa

     Chinese "Z" visa / Employment Visa   

 

The Chinese Employment Visa (Z Visa) is issued to an alien who comes to China for a post or employment, and his/her accompanying family members. Teachers should apply for a Z visa.

 

There are two documents that are essential in order to apply for the Chinese Z visa:

 

1. Foreign Expert's Work Permit or Alien Employment License

 

You must submit the original of either:

 

• An Alien Employment License issued by the Chinese Ministry of Labor and Social Security.  OR;

 

• A Foreign Experts Work Permit issued by the Chinese State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs (for teachers). 

 

2. Chinese Visa Notification

 

The original visa notification issued by the Chinese Government Department or an authorized agency ( i.e. Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China).

You will be issued a single entry business visa that will be changed to match the duration of stay and number of entries as indicated by your contract once you arrive in China. Please contact your employer regarding the process.
