Why do we ask you for this? Good question:

It is typically the case that the application needs to be edited or corrected due to errors or mistakes made by the applicant. In order to best assist you by saving you time we request that you print the Declarant ID and Password and send this information to us along with your application and supporting documents. Should your application need to be corrected we would be able to login and make the corrections. In most cases the correction can be made by without any further action needed by the applicant. 

This is not mandatory- you do not need to send the login information to us. This is entirely optional.
