.  Russian Federation

A Russian visa is not required to enter Russia for citizens of the following Independent States: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Please note: the Russian Embassy will only accept a visa application for submission if your date of entry to Russia is within 45 days. Those applying earlier than the designated window allowed for by the Russian Embassy will be placed on hold until the appropriate time.

To apply for a Homestay Visa you will need a Visa Entitlement Certificate (IZVESHENIYE) from the local OVIR (Office of Visas and Registration) in Russia. (The Izvesheniye is also know as "visa support" or a "letter of invitation".) Your host must obtain this certificate for you and send the original certificate to you.

Note: The cost of the OVIR application is about USD35. Allow 4-6 weeks for the OVIR's approval. You cannot apply for the visa until you have the original Izvesheniye. Your visa will be issued for the dates specified on the Izvesheniye.

Izvesheniye alternative:
If you do not have time to wait for the Izvesheniye, Passport Visas Express.com can obtain Visa Support for you in as fast as a few hours if necessary. This will allow you to apply for a tourist visa to enter Russia. To apply: Russian Visa Support
